  • Personal Radio recommendations?

    Hello everybody-peeps!

When I'm out gardening, I like to bung my ear-plugs in and listen to music. It also makes the time pass more quickly. I have recently started downloading Podcasts to listen to. However, I really miss certain Radio programs, and would like a decent small personal/sport radio thingy. I used to have a really cheap tacky one, but I dropped it a few months ago, and it hasn't worked since.

Does anyone have any experience of these things, and can you recommend one?

I would prefer rechargeable, but don't mind battery. I don't need a speaker, as I prefer to use earbud or a bluetooth headset.

    Thanking you in anticipation!

One of these - Roberts Sports DAB/FM RDS Personal Digital Radio with Loudspeaker - Black: Amazon.co.uk: TV

Mr Z bought it for me about 2 years ago and it's clucking marvelous. Still using regularly and fits into pocket or can be used without headphone/s on greenhouse shelves.

        Thank you Ladies!

TS, I've tried, but don't always get a good signal 'out here' and the buffering and interference drives me potty.
Zaz, I've been looking at those, so now I will get one. Ta.

Roberts is the best one according to all the lads toy mags. I bought one for Mr VVG which he loves.
How about some modified ear defender over the ear headphones and a four foot aerial coming off the top - am picturing it right now

I can't use personal radios etc as have never found any ear phones that don't hurt but do sometimes take my old wind up radio to the plot and have it playing while I'm weeding.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Alison, I don't like the hard plastic ones that either fall out, or hurt like chuff when you wedge them in your lug'ole. I use the 'in ear' type, that look like they have a plastic ball on one side. It is soft and squidgy, doesn't hurt, and keeps the wind out.

Have just bought a Union Flag Roberts DAB, so am looking forward to getting it.

The in ear ones are worse, apparently I have very small ear cavities which bruise easily....... I knew I was special!

Sennheiser and Bowers&Wilkins make in ear phones with different sized inner pieces so that you can fit them to different sized earholes.

Thanks but have suffered enough pain over the years to accept the fact that I'm better off without shoving anything in my ears - reduces the risk of damage to hearing too
