Mine too is an old chest of drawers without the drawers. It's full of trays and containers and I use the top to pot. It's been against the side of my house for some years now and is just beginning to bow, so I am looking to buy something proper. Unless I spot another old set of drawers!

Thanks, Nickers - you've just given me a use for that old Bureau we were given (after saying we didn't want it ) by my In-laws. I'd have to keep the shed locked, though, so they didn't see it!

I have a couple very similar to these and they are brilliant. Wherever thy needs to do a bit of potting, take up thy potting station and walk.

          Wellity, wellity!

Inspired by the talk of furniture as potting tables I have tracked down one of these which I'll be collecting on Monday!

          Baby changing units!

My plan is to take the draws out, strengthen it a bit if needed, add some shelves and maybe some doors to the lower part and paint it a pretty colour in exterior gloss!

It will be kept close to the house so fairly sheltered and still cheaper than a 'proper' potting bench!

Drill some holes in the base of the drawers and you have ready made - mini raised beds!
