OK so I'm a nerd. But I guess there are one or two self selecting nerds on here by virtue of this being an on-line forum.
I have books galore and a few bookmarked website guides for planting. I have access to the knowledge although its at the house and I'm at the allotment.
But what I observed last year was I'd head off to the plot and plant some sweetcorn seeds and transplant some turnips and broccoli and earth up the spuds. I'd get home and be distracted when I got in so not think much of what I'd done for the day till much later. At which point I'd not remember if the broccoli were planted in the first row or the second or if that was the turnip.
Then 8 weeks later I'm trying to remember exactly when I planted by corn and how far on it should be. If I had a planting guide it'd tell me that I should plant between May and July and Harvest between August and October or whatever. But it doesn't say "You planted on May 15th so you should expect to Harvest around August 31st" or whatever. I know its not that scientific. I know it depends on site, weather, feeding etc. But unless I've captured when I planted won't know when it 'should' be ready.
So I'd like an Ap that will do some of this for me:
Clearly not asking for much!
I've found bits of these in a variety of fairly rough looking aps. But has anyone found the holy grail ap yet?
Anyone think this is unachievable? Pointless?
Anyone think I've lost the plot?

So I'd like an Ap that will do some of this for me:
- Record when I planted seeds / plugs
- Let me record where I planted them on a plan of my plot
- Cope with squ ft as well as conventional plot shapes
- Know the plant, so automatically add reminders for key plant events - transplanting, feeding, watering, treating common diseases, harevsting etc
- Let me defer any reminders by a certain number of hours/days if either I'm not at the plot or they aren't quite ready
- Ideally use weather info to add additional reminders to water if the rainfall is low, cover if air temp is forecast low etc
- Deal with more mundane tasks like prompting to turn compost, lime beds etc
- Prompt when harvesting is due
- When I harvest to capture quantities (weight, number - e.g. 2 normal sized sweet corn rather than having to weigh everything)
- Look-up some reference prices for my harvest - e.g. on Tesco's website and tell me how much I saved by growing my own
- Let me track how much I spent of seeds, fertiliser etc so I can see a total saving/spend
- Let me track time so that I can see which crops are time intensive and may not be value for money
- Link to a reliable reference source's website for each ingredient
