  • Where is the best buy for 3" pots ?

Looking for the standard 3" pots. Tried 3 garden centres and if they have them they are sold individually. Homebase had none, didn't know if they were getting any and couldn't care less!

Will be down in Glasgow/Edinburgh area this weekend so where are the bargains? Or should I buy mail-order?

Don't know if this helps, CG, but I buy black 3" square pots from Wilko - 89p for 15.

I bought my last lot of pots from LBS Garden Warehouse, who are quite near me, but also do mail order - http://www.lbsgardenwarehouse.co.uk/default.asp

Last year I bought a lot in bulk off eBay, they're still going strong.

The Pound shop had them, 15 for a £1.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Sorry Hazel but who are Wilko ? Online retailer or our local Sutton Coldfields garden centre. I seem to remember having heard the name but they are not local to John O'Groats.

              I'm sorry, CG - it's Wilkinsons - here's the link

              http://www.wilko.co.uk/

And there's a store locator there too.

Try your local pound shop. Failing that try mail order - loads of ads in GYO. Or Freecycle if you're not desperate for new. We got loads of cell trays and pots out of a skip recently. Plants put in by big contractor, couldn't be bothered to re-use pots so dumped them (our gain, their loss)

                    Hi CG
Depends on how many pots you are looking for ?
I got mine from LBS - 3" pots in shuttle trays, and 3" flexipots - just phoned them up, ordered and paid by card there and then and they arrived about a week later.
                    Will PM you with more.

I've found N Kays the cheapest in terms of mail order, although their postage is a bit steep for outlying areas, but worth it if you put in a big order.

Kays might be cheap but with a £16 P&P regardless of the order (Highlands!) I will not be shopping with them amny time soon.

Unfortunately CC that is what I have to pay and NR Kays work out the cheapest for freight! So I order from them every two years. I couldn't afford to buy pots at single prices here.
