Please can I have recommendations for loppers (2-3'). Ours get a lot of wear and the pair we bought last week packed up after an hour (they weren't especially cheap and they have gone back). I don't mind a bit of weight but not too much. Diolch

that's why I went for anvil rather than bypass for bigger jobs although I do have a pair of 18" bypass type made by CK that must be over 30 years old
An older & shorter version of these .......

my loppers bust be about 40 years old with wooden handles. Tried the newer ones but never as good as my old ones.

New ones tend to use thinner blades than old style ones. Especially with cheap ones you have to be very careful not to twist them while cutting. If you keep them straight then there's no sideways pressure on the blades and they will last until the bolts shear off.
