Blue debri netting 3m X 10m

I would like to procure some but I don't want to buy a 50m roll.

Do any grapes know where I can get 3m X 10m reasonably cheaply with free delivery?

Nope, they're out of it. But they do have 10 x 2m

Why is blue better than green for growth?

Plants don't use green light to photosynthesis, they just throw it straight back (that's why the look green) - the green netting filters out some of red and blue light (some dtill gets through the holes) reducing the proportion of useful light.

Apparently red light is useful for fruit and flower growth and blue for leafy growth.

I used to use green netting but the last two years I've tried with the blue over the kales and the growth is better. This year I've planted out two beds side by side (one previously had onions in and one had peas) with brassicas.

One bed I left uncovered and the other has a blue hoop cover. Neither have been troubled by pigeons or butterflies but the one under the netting is romping away whilst the uncovered bed is lagging behind.

And by the way, it's not the peas - that's the uncovered bed.

Of course, the netting is making a microclimate underneath it which will be effecting it and to do it properly I'll have to repeat it next year with blue and green side by side but I definatrely think the blue netting has had an effect.

There's a strong possibility it is, and judging by the evidence I tend to agree with Jay-el. I just thought I would give it a try myself, maybe with a green mesh bed next to a blue mesh bed to see if f there was any difference in growth patterns.

Yep, I've just read Jay-ell's post - so that's my arse well skelped.

But, he could be talking absolute p#sh- we need to see verifiable evidence.
