  • Work light

The lad came back with a new work light today the likes of which I have never seen before.

Made by Rothenberger it is call the FLEXiT, less than 10mm thick you can bend it to more or less fit anywhere, 3 AA batteries and magnetic too.

For scale that is a piece of A4 paper.

I'm rubbish on electrics! What is ..... "Up to 600 lumens light output"?
How bright is that? I use daylight bulbs in my wall lights and a overhead lamp for my hobbies...600 sounds a lot?

600 lumens is about 40w incandescent or 10w LED or about 250 tea lights if the powers out

If you go for led rather than incandescent you can get a brighter bulb as the led puts out less heat - e,g, 1500 lumens is about 100w incandescent or 25w LED

Here's a useful chart for wattages and lumens.Watts to Lumens Conversion Chart | What Wattage Do You Need?

You can get dimmable bulbs at a premium. But you will need to change your dimmer switches as the ones for tungstens don't usually work for leds. There are special modules that allow you keep your old switch plates.

I see that due to low wattage there are rechargeable work lights with a claim 3hrs run time. Might be useful for outdoors or in shed,https://www.screwfix.com/p/diall-led...-12-240v/7042k

^^^^We have had one for over a year Danny cracking piece of kit, that bright it will illuminate an entire roof space and yes it will run for 3 hours but it then takes some time to recharge it.
