hi all ,im looking to get a petrol grass strimmer im thinking of getting a

TITAN TTL530GBC 43CC STRAIGHT SHAFT PETROL BRUSHCUTTER (61145

has anyone got one of these ? or any other recomendations ? i want a petrol one rather than a battery one as the batterys dont last that long and im hoping this will be abit more heavy duty

I've a Makita strimmer which uses 18v battery from drill but it's a light weight job coping with lawn edges ok.

One worry is how long replacement batteries will be available for.

I did a swap with my BiL, he got a fancy microphone and I got his petrol strimmer. It is Ryobi and decent as it goes. My one word of advice (OK several words then) would be to maintain it properly. Keep the bump head clean and it will feed string as required. Keep the motor without petrol/2 stroke mix when not in use for an extended period. Modern petrol does not stay fresh and will settle a kind of varnish on metal surfaces it remains in contact with when stale. This builds up in carburetors and then causes starting frustration. It is possible to clean a carb with the correct fluid and not much more than a screwdriver and a small socket set, but try to avoid that in the first place.
On the Titan in particular I can't comment as I have no experience. Do you need a brush cutter or would a used petrol rotary mower be a better and cheaper solution?

thanks for putting the link up danny,i used my neighbours battery powered strimmer and it was ok but i want somthing abit more heavy duty ,the finaly thing that made me decide to go for petrol was the battery only lasted 15 mins ,i have thought about a mower kevin but at the mo not all the ground is flat and how i want it so a mower wouldnt work on those areas plus i walk or cycle to my plot and dont want to leave either in my shed incase the grow legs so i will have to take it home each time ,thanks for your comments ,cheers
