Hi - I've been lurking on and off for a couple of years but never got round to posting. Now that I've recently retired I'm enjoying having more time to spend on the garden. Our emphasis is on edibles, with a general approach towards encouraging wildlife - a brilliant excuse for the clover in the lawn and the brambles in the hedge, etc, which are covered in bumblebees just now. We have two apple trees (cookers), a blackcurrant, and three 3' x 7' raised beds for veg.
Over the years we've had mixed success with the beds but this spring we bought in some municipal compost which has given them a new lease of life. My husband leaves the planning to me and I'm trying to be more systematic and organised. So far things seem to be doing well though the wildlife dug up some parsnips last night - grrrr!
I've learned a lot from this forum - thanks!
