Hello everyone.
I'm Huzey from Gloucester, and have just found this site and after a few problems registering, thought I would introduce myself.
I have just started renting a small plot of ground of just under an acre, to have a go at my dream of producing a bit of organic veg for family, friends and myself, using some old machinery and a few bits and pieces that I have built myself. I have got a 1955 Fordson Major tractor and a couple of implements to start with, along with a very helpfull German Shepherd dog (not), and will be picking up a plough on sunday!
The ground has been left for about 12 years as I know of and is in need of a lot of tlc; getting it reasonably level is the first challenge! But it is a good south facing sight even if the land is quite heavy clay, though it should improve with time and effort and lots of organic material.
Very early stages at the moment, having had to deal with lots of blackthorn trees and oak trees that have self seeded, and trying to sort out a water tank to catch the rain off the small stable that is on the patch.
Anyway, waffled on enough for now. Look forward to using the forum a lot and chatting to you all.
All the best
Huzey.
