Hi I've been lurking around reading all the great threads on this wonderful forum and I thought it was time I joined.

I live Edinburgh with my wee dog Captain Harry, we've been trying to get an allotment for over 3 years, but we cant' wait any longer I need to grow my own veggies and The Captain needs somewhere to put his paddling pool(I'm not kidding!). So I fenced off the back garden and turned it into our own wee allotment. Its a nice size 15mtrsx6mtrs, my friend came down and build me 3 raised beds and I've added a raised platform for growing in pots.

I look forward to getting to know you all and picking up tons of tips.

Thats the way to go Alinver, grass is a waste of good growing space and don't forget you can grow almost anything in containers/pots as well. A friend of ours dug up her FRONT garden and planted spuds, now that's keen

Hi and welcome to the vine. I am another one who is slowly losing 'lawn' to veggies. My OH (Madmax) says we should dig up all the grass and plant lots more veggies.
