  • Hi from Berwick upon Tweed

Just a quick hi, as i want to read some of the past posts, looking for info on setting up a wildlife garden/pond for the school where i am the caretaker.
    Any plans/ideas will be appreciated.
A local school has given me info sheets as where to buy info sheets on what you can expect to find living/growing in an established pond.

    Thanks in hope

Hello and welcome! I used to live in Alnwick :-)

If you don't want to break your back too much, an old bath with the plug sealed up would be a good start for a pond.....upturned terracotta pots filled with straw etc make good toad holes......make insect homes out of loads of old bamboo tied together in a bundle.....

Freecycle is a good place to start if funds are tight - I think most of us start there before developing the Wombling habit of not being able to pass a skip without having a rummage!

    Keep us posted!
