Hi, this is a first for me, chatting & picking peoples brains on line.
I am retired but work harder now than ever & having more fun. I have only had an allotment for 5 years but have always grown my own. My current site is to be closed next year to make way for a road so have the daunting job of starting again on a virgin sight.
My other hobby is painting & drawing - mainly portraits & have had some great gardening subjects (with their permision of course). I never stop learning as nature is always 2 steps ahead but that's part of the fun.
Now for the brain picking bit. Last year I grew sweet potatoes from purchased slips but thought I would grow my own this year. I read somewhere to put them in the window in a little water but they rotted then my second attemps without water has had no luck either. Have any of you had any success & if so have I still time this year?
Happy growing
