  • Hello from Gwynedd

Hi all, i am new to this forum but am enjoying the hints and tips already.

I have a green house and smallish back garden, the back garden to date has only been used for a small herb garden and toms and potatoes in tubs! but as I now have a green house I have much hope of turning the unused back garden into lovely veg patches!!My main concern is that the garden is on a bit of a slope!! Does anybody else have to work on a slope??

welcome loopylu just stated on the forum getting great hints & tips.my plots are on a slope no probs but work uphill makes the job a lot easier.you can do a lot in the greenhouse dont be scared to ask any questions.

Hi loopylu, it's a lovely part of the world you're in. My OH comes from Angelsey (Holyhead in fact) and we're going there this weekend to vist the rellies. I would say your best bet for gardening on a slope is to do some terracing. I know someone who has a lovely veg garden in Edinburgh with a serious slope. He has put in terraces (basically, stepping the ground level down the slope) and he has lovely crops.

Thank you! I think terracing could work quite well!
