Hello all,
I've been lurking on this site for awhile but never got round to registering and posting. But it's the second year that I have dug up some of the flower beds and grass in my back garden for veggie growing and perhaps I can contribute something now.
Last year was quite successful in the old flower beds because the soil had been well worked but the heavy clay and stony soil under the turfed areas leaves a lot to be desired. The compost bins are working overtime to provide the black stuff that will hopefully improve conditions and give a better year than last.
