Have been growing veg for 30 years...in my book, if you can't eat it it's not worth growing!!! I also use my allotment as a stress buster...once through the gate it's just me and my veg, no phones, faxes, emails or customers! Look forward to 'chatting' on the forum. Where gardening is concerned you never stop learning. Here's hoping for a better season than last year! Cheers, Keith.

Hi Keith - we're probably a similar vintage then. I have no lawn left in a large garden! I do grow flowers though and love hardy perennials. Actually, you can eat some of the flowers I grow too.

Hello, Keith, I've been growing for about as long as you and you're right, last season was a nightmare. Another one like that and we'll team-up and start the first Yorkshire paddy field.

Welcome to the vine. I've not been growing as long as you, only started a few seasons back. I know what you mean about phones though, I would never have a mobile phone, this went on for some years, then my OH brought me one for christmas (not his best choice of present). When asked why he brought me a mobile he replied because he can never reach me when I'm down the greenhouse, to which I replied you won't be able to get me on the phone down the greenhouse as I will never remeber to take it with me!
I love my gardening and don't like mobiles at the best of times but since Ive had one its never been answered in the greenhouse. lol
