            hi all

Hi,Heywayne,Flummery,AliceandFrancesbean ,Have just come in out of the garden as its so hot!Not complaining you understand, but have been fighting weeds and need a quick cuppa before going out again.Thank you all for your kind welcome its really nice!Francesbean, please tell me what you think of yournew Eglu.I really want to get one.The one iv'e noticed is the Eglu cube.I have trouble bending some times(bad hips)so i thought that it would be easier to clean if it were off the ground.I only want a few Bantams in the garden but i do tend to spoil my pets,so as it also looks easy to move i thought i'd find out more.Whats your experience so far?Jilly.

Thanks gardenplot,am addicted already,I have had a lovely time in the Garden today,if only the Sycamore trees behind our back garden had'nt been so busy last autumn .I'd have got a lot more done. Would you believe that there are 3 with protection orders on them?its hard work getting the little saplings out of the veggie patch.still i'm getting there. Its suppost to be raining tomorrow.Hope its not! Thanks for your welcome message.

Hi jilly - I too really wanted acube but I have serious space problems and a eglu with a bit of fenced off garden for a freerange area was my only option. Ordering was easy, delivery perfect and hens are georgeous, I got 2 pepperpots and 1 ginger ranger. Its just as they say on the tin, easy to clean- looks fab (Id post a pic but dont know how!)hens seem happy in both eglu and run-my ground is bumpy so I got pegs which seemvsecure and fox deterrent, and netting and poles for freeranging when Im in garden or closeby. Where are you by the way? town or country?

As cube is off ground it would be easier to get to muck tray and collect eggs- I have to bend to get to both in eglu although its such a quick process only took me 2 mins quick wipe and into compost bin with the poo. Grass under eglu run is already looking worse for wear after 4 days so I will be moving it about to give it a rest - so dont know how easy that will be, but cube looks pretty mobile so perhaps easier for you there.

Only problem i can see is that door doesnt open/close automatically on light sensor - fancied a lie in this morning, but dashed out in jammies to let them out. I dont yet feel confident enough to keep door open, - theyre like newborns overly pampered at the mo!

Im glad I took the plunge.

Hi Francesbean,Thanks for the info. What colour Eglu did you get?Ive had another look on their site and i think that you're right, the cube may be a bit big and when i saw them move the Eglu it was very easy and seemed light.Shame about the light sensor though!I live on the edge of a town, you can see the big ships through the trees(Sycamore!)I have a very old house so Quite a big garden but hubby does n't like chickens digging up the grassso they will have to move most days.is there a waiting list for Eglu? What did you name your hens?
