  • The site kept insisting I say hi!

Heh. Apparently the records insist I've not said hi! So here I am. Hello!!! <waves> I'm so new I haven't even properly explored the site yet so bare with . I'm new to gardening, loved the idea of homesteading for years (self sufficiency). My best experience to date is having a patch of lovely pumpkins and a small flock of free range hens some year ago.

Currently I'm in a new country, small patch and no livestock. So we thought we'd try our hand at raising some veg this year.

    Thankyou!

              hello ukwife,

I was new a couple of weeks ago and after some hesitation posted a few things which were of variable coherence! I can relate to is being a bit overwhelming when you find the site and then get the message 'you have not introduced yourself yet' type thing. The thing I discovered is no matter how incoherent or 'silly' your post is - there seem to be people out there who are fine and good spirited. I started a post asking about my cabbages - and it helped. Keep talking and it might make an only slightly less new person like me feel good to have novice company out there!

so did you live somewhere hot before ukwife? I'm not far from Staffordshire so can assure you it is never so baltic as Northumberland or Scotland!! I have a lovely friend with a wonderful garden near Cannock Chase - so I know in your area you can succeed.

              Keep in touch!
