  • HI I'm Peachy

    Hi Everyone,

I'm peachy and I have joined here to learn as I am a complete novice with a head full of ideas but very little knowledge.

My aim is to built a veg garden, fruit garden and herb garden using things I have received for free or recycled.

Its all just ideas and drawings so far and a small collection of things I have collected, such as:

120 reclaimed yellow stone designed bricks.

Several pallets to make my own compost bin

Two old french doors for cloches

Lots of crock for base of pots

lots of pots from other people wanting to chuck them out

bark chippings from my neighbour who had some trees trimmed to half their size

lots of free seeds from magazines

cuttings from neighbours, friends and families

    manure from local farmers

and I have kept all tins and plastic containers to use as storage when I build my new shed (which I may have to buy) ;o)

Mineral water bottles to scare away birds and and collect water.

    Recycled water butts too

If anyone has any ideas how to make a garden from scratch for free or next to nothing I'd be really interested to hear from you, or anyone else who wants to chat for that matter.

    Peachy x

Wow! You have a lot of ideas! You can get free items, that still work, from Freecycle (google it!) I have a friend who got a cold frame, so you may be just as lucky!
Hi! Please look at my 'brilliant' site about dolls houses and miniatures! I can always use new members, not matter how much you visit or not! Also, the more members I get the more things I can put on, so go on, do me a favor and at least look!

      Hi Peachy,

      Welcome to The Vine!

Love your ideas and attitude to recycling! Sure it will be a wonderful garden when you're done.
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!
Always aim for the best result possible not the best possible result

Good on you for your ideas. Einstein (I think) said: "Imagination is more important than education."
