  • Hi everyone

I'm in central Scotland (Stirling) & have had this small garden (heavy clay)for a year & a half now. Been gardening for years but just ventured into veggies on a very small scale about 2 years ago & now I'm hooked!! My son (10 years old & hates veg) & husband are fed up listening to me so it's great to read all your news & ideas.

I put in a greenhouse, water butt, compost bin & a couple of small raised beds last summer. I've sown so many seeds this year you'd think I had a huge kitchen garden so I'm busy getting rid of grass & digging bigger borders to fit in all the stuff that's growing in the greenhouse & threatening to take over the world. I'll need to pace myself next year!

I want to get another couple of water butts in the garden, one on the garage/shed which will be ok but I'd like to get one for the house downpipe but all the ads I've seen have diverters/fittings for plastic pipes but mine are old metal ones, anyone know if these are easy to fit?

    Thanks for listening!

Welcome to the Vine Veggie Mama. Just love your enthusiasm. If you go into your personal profile you can enter Stirling and we can all see where you are - it helps with climate related questions.

Welcome! I bet you don't pace yourself next year! I seem to grow more every year. More of the things I like, more new things I haven't tried before. I have a large back garden veg plot but his year I was lucky enough to get half an allotment close by. - I still think I shall run out of room!

          Hi Mary,

Welcome to the vine, glad to hear you are as hooked as the rest of us

I think you are the closest grape to me, I am in Bonnybridge so only about 10 miles away! What are you growing this year?
