  • Hello Newbie here!

Hello everyone, my name is Vanessa and I've just discovered this great forum! I am new to growing veg (apart from my pitiful attempts to grow a marrow at age 9).

Vegetables are growing ok so far, only killed one plant which is good for me.
Hoping to find out some great tips from people on here!

    Hi Vanessa,

Welcome to The Vine! It's great here, someone can always answer even the daftest question asked.....I should know!!!
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!
Always aim for the best result possible not the best possible result

    Forever indebted to Potstubsdustbins

      Hi Vanessa
I have also just joined this fab site & am gaining lots of inspiration for my first year of being a veg grower. Let's hope the inspiration pays off in some knowlege as I've managed to kill a few more plants than you!!

Hi, oh yes I have lots of daft questions to ask! I don't really have a clue what I'm doing! I've been growing seedlings on a patio table and there's a couple of things where I don't even remember what I've planted where so it will be great fun to work out what is what when they start growing!

The only negative about this site is that I'm going to be in the forum loads when I should be working on bits and bobs for my online work! Oh well! I've got a courgette plant that I purchased which was probably only a few weeks away from growing courgettes, unfortunately I decided it would be a good idea to let them have some fresh air in April (they'd been indoors) but forgot to bring them in and the frost got to them - doh!!

Good luck with your veggie growing both of you - it's going to be fun!
