Greetings from Sunny (at the moment!) Wiltshire....!
I have been pottering about in the garden on and off most of my life but have only really got serious about it since buying our current property. We didn't really buy it for the house which is very small and needs a lot of work, but for the lovely large garden (Back garden is approx 45' by 130' and the front is 45' by 40'). After a couple of years sorting the house this year it is the gardens turn.
When we moved in the back garden was mainly grass with a couple of large U-shaped borders - area between these has now been dug over to create a couple of veggie plots (one approx 11' square and the other 11' by 10') and I will be using the ex-flower borders as well for the more permanent crops. I have also started work on a fruit patch planting lots of raspberries with other fruits to follow and am busy adding to the "orchard" at the bottom of the garden (how many trees constitute an orchard - I currently have 5 apple and a couple of plums...?)
Happy gardening!
Lisa
