Hi, I'm from Oxford and have a large garden (1/8 acre) with a good proportion devoted to fruit and veg. We are in a spectacular area, surrounded by ancient water meadows and lakes and so have an unusually rich range of wildlife in our garden and the adjacent woodland and lake, ranging from kingfisher and many species of migratory waterfowl, to larger mammals such as foxes, badgers and roe/muntjac deer.
My particular interest is fruit; I grow about 50 varieties of apples, pears, plum, quince and medlar. Most are grown as Y cordons, and I grafted many myself from wood from Brogdale. I also grow most soft fruit, and a wide range/succession of vegetables.
I also have kept poultry for many years now, and breed Indian Runner Ducks and Black East Indies.
