Hello everybody,

Just discovered this site to-night, looks very good.
I have a good size garde in two sections so my veg plot is not visible from the house or the rest of the garden. Great when I want a bit of time to myself.

Welcome to the Vine Johnstown. Good to see another Irish member - we have a few. Quite a few of us grow in our own gardens although most seem to have allotments - I think. Maybe we could put that one up for a poll.
Anyway, look forward to your posts and hearing about what you are growing and how it's getting on.

Thanks for your comments.
I have 9 raised beds, 2mx1m and this year am growing the following.
3 beds of potatoes, then carrots and onions combined in one bed, Mange Tout and Petis Pois in another, French beans,leeks,lettuce, spring onions,or as we say over here, scallions.

I also have 12 apple trees and 1 victoria plum tree, two nut trees and 14 various berry and currant bushes. Blackberries grow wild at the very end of the garden

I sowed in mid May so as to try and avoid any late frosts and so far everything is up and looking good.

Oh Johnstown How I envy you with all that lovely garden space!
I have to make do with a small balcony with herbs and tomatoes
for the moment
I only discovered the site a few weeks ago too. It's brilliant. Enjoy

The only problem with such a lot of space is time. Last year I purchased a ride on mower which has freed up a lot of time for weeding and keeping the place looking good.
