hi everyone my name is annette and i'm 24 and from the wirral (which is up by liverpool, noone has ever heard of it) i decided to give the veg growing thing a try about three weeks ago after watching river cottage spring. people say you can grow veg no matter how little space you have so i thought i'd give it a go.
since then i have discovered that i'm vertually clueless about what to plant and when (seasonal veg? what's that? )
anyway i got all confused by going to lots of different sites that tell you lots of different things, then yesterday, in ASDA i saw the grow your own mag and it looked fab and then i looked at the website and saw there were lots of lovely people i could ask questions.
So far i have planted the following:
Little gem lettuce
Beetroot (the ones that came with the mag)
Greyhound cabbage
Brussel sprouts
some strawberries in an hanging basket
and a couple of chitted spuds.
all of these are currently in pots or cell trays in my little greenhouse.
any advice would be fantastic, as i say i'm an absolute ameture so feel free to let me know if i'm getting stuff completely wrong.
Look forward to hearing from you
