Is it still possible to obtain service kits (filters,plugs) for the Wolseley Super Major?
Having lurked on the edge of the forum for some time I thought it was worth tapping into the wealth of knowledge that obviously exists.

Hi plugs can obtained from halfords or similar (the gap is 25thou).
The filter if it is the old type take of the engine and prize the filter casing apart inside you should find a sponge filter wash it with petrol and then soak it in warm soapy water then dry it out put some oil on it and refit.
There are places that supply parts for Merry Tillers but you wil have to google for them.
The instructions are for Briggs and Straten engines only make sure you use the right grade of oil sae 30 grade jacob marley

Thank you Tuber, particularly for the plug gap. unfortunately the filter is in a sealed gauze type cage and is made of paper, like most modern filters, however, I am working on it

I have a Gardsman rotovator, which I was hoping to bring out of retirement this weekend, unfortunately I couldn't get it started, it was running when I put it away a few years ago. Is the 25thou gap universal to all rotovators, a new plug has been installed, but I couldn't remember the gap. Sorry this doesn't contribute to the above query, but I didn't know where else to put my question. Thanks, Mirita.

if your engine is a brigs and stratten 25 thou is ok but if the engine has been standing for a long time the filter in the petrol tank will be blocked and it entails droping the tank away from the carburettor and cleaning the filter which is at the bottom of the 2 pipes that hang down from the carburettor one is about three time's as long as the other .
If the engine is a honda and you have no spark check the OIL level in the engine because the honda has a switch that kills the electric's when the oil level runs low and you can not damage the engine by runnig low on oil i hope this make's sense to you and it help's jacob marley
