  • Yet another newbie..

Hi all. It was such a relief to find this site as I have many many questions to ask the knowledgable amongst you.

I have recently caught the gardening bug and my garden is starting to take on the form of a large pot with the number of things I've attempted to grow this year!
I am a secondary school teacher and have taken on the role of the school garden this year too - not a small task for someone who knows very little about veg growing. The plot is 'huge' a 30m-15m area that has various raised beds and veg plot in it as well as the greenhouse in the centre. It looks great but it is just a daunting task to get children to grow veg that I dont ruin by giving the wrong advice - so expect plenty of posts from me! Sorry in advance.

Anyway I'll stop babbling now. Thanks for reading and its great that such a forum exists for us new comers to growing!!

      welcome to the vine

you may not know a lot about the veggies, but you're a teacher, so set the kids some homework ..... if it all goes wrong, it's their fault, not yours!

My sister - also not a gardener - I do their garden! - has been in charge of their primary school veg plot. Needless to say, they've used my spare plants, my seed potatoes, loads of text messages asking what to do - makes me feel important anyway! Keep asking questions - often you will ask what someone else wondered but didn't like to ask.
