Hello all, well I thought id join this forum as it looked full of great advice and hoped that I could gain and give myself eventually
ive been dabbling with growing this year with some failures and sucess and im hoping to gain enough knowledge for a better growing season next year.

Only SOME failures this year???...then you've done really well- cos I've had some rubbish results!!

Do you have a lottie/garden/patio???- and what are you esp interested in growing??

I think its down to not growing much that meant few failures. Had some dodgy garlic and onions.

I started with just containers but recently moved so im digging out a section of the garden to grow for next year and ive got a small greenhouse thingie

Ive grown with sucess this year herbs: basil, oregano, parsley, chives, thyme and corriander. Veg wise ive done okay with cucumbers and courgettes (I thought we were going to be over run with them and I only had one plant) The cherry tomatoes have done well and the salad leaves did well. Little gem lettuces went wrong and we had loads of kale but it was subjected to mass slaughter by slugs and snails.

I almost gave up on my aubergines and peppers but they have started to fruit this week. So hopefully will get at least a few decent aubergines.

That just leaves the carrots and beetroot still growing but looking a little sad.

Im struggling with so many slugs and snails to be honest.

Hi and Welcome Maffie. If you go into the tab called User CP you can add your location - it only needs to be vague - which will help people to give you better advice (when you need it!). Weather conditions can be so different in different places. Sadly, slugs and snails seem to thrive everywhere.
