Hello there..and welcome to the Vine!
Are you growing in the garden/pots/allotment??
What are you esp interested in??
There are loads of helpful peeps here- and I'm sure there are tips you can pass onto us...we've all been new to fruit and veg growing...even tips like "don't do this..and don't do that" are most welcome!!! Personally I prefer to learn from other folks mistakes rather than my own!!!!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Like the others said, hello and welcome!
My advice is to have a go. I started with a plant a friend gave me as a house-warming present ten years ago, got hooked on shrubs and climbers, then perennials, then tried veg. I'm not sure I have learned nearly enough in that time, but it is certainly addictive!

I'm interested in growing (or trying to. . . !!LOL!!) vegetables, and some fruit. This year was my first attempt since moving to Fife from London, and my almost total failure has spurred me on to try again. . .
I tried:
Tomatoes in pots - almost total failure
Tomatoes in hanging basket (100s and 1000s) - almost total failure
Spuds in a tub - total failure
Strawberries in a basket - failure (but not for the birds!! LOL!!
A bit of netting next time methinks!!)
Butternut squash in a pot - total failure
Courgettes in a pot - total failure
Peppers in pots - total failure
Chillies in pots - some success!!!!
Carrots in a big pot - SUCCESS!!! Yippeee!!!
Okay, I paint a disastrous picture, but I know where I went
wrong for the most part, and will be trying again next year with
renewed enthusiasm. I also want to try putting some vegetables
into the ground. So I suppose I need to dig a bed. . .
. . . Is there anything I could plant now, bearing in mind I haven't
prepared the bed yet (doesn't it need to rest for a while)?
Should I dig a bed now ready for next year, or wait until next year. . . ?
I really am a 'know nothing' novice!!!
