    Hot summer,you've done well.
I've tried to grow sweetcorn outside and 3 out of 4 years it's not worked and you're further north than me,it will always be hit and miss I fear.Study the seed catalogues over the winter, read some books on container growing(maybe try the local library till you find one you want to buy),buy items that are suitable for container growing, remember you could use up nutrients faster in a pot or wash them away when watering.

Welcome to the Vine Ardroil. Good to have another Scottish Grape. You could go into your personal profile and show that you are in Inverness. Lovely place and yes that corner did have good weather this summer.
Next year you might want to try beans in containers. You'll get a great crop from a small space.
Stick around the Vine and you'll get great info and help - and a laugh.
        Look forward to your posts.

welcome, not been her long myself, but they are a fantastic lot here, full of advice , seeds and laughs.

i container grow myself, first time this year, and had mixed results like you, I am planning more next year though learning from what did well and what didn't.
I did runner beans and they were a GREAT success, as were dwarf peas, branching into corn next year amongst others, it will be fun to compare notes, good luck and happy not-digging

              hi and welcome.
You had pretty much the same success as the rest of us. btw, Corn doesn't like growing too far north. Neither do squash/pumpkins ... they need long hot summers
