    Hi Nicos

There is lots of horse poo available as they graze openly just out of town, so September time next year i will go down and get some. (There are lots of landmines around but luckily they are all fenced off, but a poor cow did get blown up a couple of years ago by standing on one) Lots of people use sheep manure, but i hear its very strong, and really needs leaving about a year. I have also heard of people using Penguin poop but i hear that's VERY strong, and can stop growth for a couple of years. They live on krill, and the stuff stinks sooooo fishy!!

You know its such a small world, the chaps in 82 were amazing, and without them we would wouldn't be the way we are today

I have potatoes, carrots, pickling onions, turnips, cabbage (red and white) onions pumpkin, peas and 4 runner beans and lettuce just to give the plots something be getting on with. It seems that people tend to focus on root crops unless they have a green house or poly tunnel then they can grow all sorts of lovely things like grapes cucumber etc.

This year in just one plot i enriched the soil with 4x soil improver, i hope that will give it a bit of a boost.

Hi where2start, I've just realised I haven't welcomed you to the Vine yet - whoops! My bad
It occurred to me that your soil is probably peat-based and if it hasn't been cultivated, you might find by adding a bit of lime, you've got some really rich fertile ground there. It's probably worth doing some soil tests if you can. Adding manure to already acidic ground can make it even more acidic. Sounds like you're doing pretty well though
