Do tell us a little bit about yourself….what do you particularly enjoy growing?

Hi Nicos , thanks for your welcome ! .
On my allotment l grow soft and top fruit , and veg in no dig beds, l love it all but particularly enjoy tending to the soft fruit , strawberry , rasps & hybrid berries. Squash are my current veg faves esp. winter varieties.
I’m really into feeding the soil rather than the plant and follow Mr Charles Dowding avidly ( he isn’t too far from where I live).
Any way , that’s enough about me , what do you enjoy in Normandy !? .

I live in a converted longhouse with a lot of land - it used to be cow pasture so it’s very rich ground.
We have a lot of mature fruit trees - wild cherries, black cherries, local apple varieties , Perry pears ( yuk!) and I’ve introduced various plum, pear, peach and other apple varieties.
Soft fruits do really well here - mostly strawberries and raspberries, along with currants, goosegogs and rhubarb.
We have 4 potagers , and grow most veg although brassicas tend to get eaten by caterpillars .
Last frost can be as late as early June…but we are too exposed for a greenhouse or polytunnel which is frustrating!
Its been a huuuge learning curve here with top temps 40C in summer and occasionally as low as -18C in winter….
I try to frow a large selection of fruit and veg so at least get a glut of something for my efforts!

                  Welcome to the forum.
I went to my plot to feed the chickens and check the rat traps.
At one time the wind was strong enough to stop me pushing a barrow loaded with manure.

Great to hear you have a back garden plot, how nice to be able to step out and harvest fresh produce .
My plot is within walking distance so not too bad.

Hello and welcome from "snowy" Yorkshire. Big fat flakes just started. Tomorrow our allotments might look pretty for a change. Snow is a great equalizer.
