Hi! Just successfully landed a position in a mental health charity. Very excited because they agreed to let me plant some herbs and things. I am not sure what this entails and what support I will get but I am really keen on it. They said I would need to help cooking - I asked if they had any herbs. Due to limited space I don't really have an admirable garden but I do dabble a lot and I do have my herbs. So - that's me in a nutshell - really grateful for any advice you feel may benefit me in my new adventure...

Hello and welcome, Barbi, and congrats on your new job.
There are lots of knowledgeable folk on here who will be glad to pass on advice. I guess the first question would be what kind of food do you like cooking, which will give an idea of what kind of herbs you might want to grow.
The Vine also has a special section for herbs, where you could post individual queries if you have them: https://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gr...t/the-herb-bed

Welcome to the forum.
Herbs are expensive in the shops.
A bay tree can grow to 8 feet in three or four years in the ground. That is thousands of pounds worth of leaves at shop prices.
If it grows in out climate give it a go. Rosemary and sage also grow well.
Parsley grows best from those pots of ready sprouted seed sold in supermarkets. Let it go to seed and weed out any that come up in the wrong place. The pot grown ones tend to get scorched by the sun but the self seeded plants will be hardened to your local conditions.
