Me too Containergardener - I love PSB & with it taking up such a lot of space for such a long time it would be disheartening if it failed again this year. Last year we blamed ourselves as we didn't stake it so it grew really wonky. We treated it well this year so it was already on a warning that if it disappoints again we'll be leaving it out of the planting plan for 2024 - but if the greenhouse frame is at fault for its demise I might feel too guilty to not sow some

Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed for your PSB! I still think it's a great ideaNestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

not wanting to hijack cariann88 'update' thread & not sure it qualifies for the swanky new 'produce' thread, I thought this would be the best place to post a piccy I took of our plot this year.
It was taken at the very end of July from a similar angle to the pic of the plot in the early days on page 1 of this thread. When I compared the pics the other day I was quite pleased with the difference. Brassica bed out of range as it's the other side of the legumes this year.
Always more work to do of course but that's gardening for you It's a warts & all pic (including a lesser spotted OH having a rare 5 mins on the bench - face blurred for sensitive viewers lol) so please ignore weeds etc.
I've also uploaded another pic just because I think it was quite an arty shot from our entry arch - although you can see the earlier mangetout on that side going over & more weeds than is respectable if you look properly at it lol.

Thanks Carrie - we like to think we're making progress every year. We've been gradually reclaiming the ground & hope to finally have taken the beds as high up the plot as we'd like next year. Chipping away a bit at a time has worked well for usLocation: SE Wales about 1250ft up
