Hello Im new on here and just joined this evening. I love growing things sometimes not very successfully. I live near Canterbury and love growing fruit trees and also very interested in growing cacti. Ive been looking at posts on here before I joined and am impressed by the knowledge of people on here. I hope this is the right place to introduce myself? Look forward to hearing more about peoples experiences with growing and interests.

Hello there and welcome to the vine, purplesage.
What fruit trees are you growing, and how many of each?
I've hated cacti ever since I was given a fishhook type as a child and got the spines in my fingers. So painful.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
Endless wonder.

Thankyou all for the very warm welcome. I have 2 Damson trees, 2 plum trees, 4 apple trees, and 4 pear trees a walnut tree and a Kentish cobnut tree! I fee that I have too many now and hopefully will not get any more. Although I am tempted to plant an almond tree! Thankyou again for the lovely welcome

Hello Nicos. Thankyou for the welcome. I grow Damson trees2, 2 plum, 4 apple trees and 4 pear trees, a walnut tree and a cobnut which we forgot about, it became very overgrown and was completely. We couldn't find it. it was neglected all through the year of he drought too so had no water. Amazingly is thriving!

Hello Mothhawk. I can understand why you hate cacti after getting the thorns stuck in your finger! The ones I have do not really have thorns as they are of the Ariocarpus type and they are quite harmless. They reward us with beautiful flowers in the autumn, they are amazing. I do have some with thorns and not my favourites at all but can't get rid of them. One called a Silver torch looks like silver fur but the very fine thorns stick in your skin, horrible! Its on borrowed time!
