  • Hiya - newbie

Hi all.My name is Toni. I am married with three children. My DH and I moved into this house about 10 years ago, but spent most of that time doing stuff to the house etc and as such the garden was overlooked. Appart from keeping the grass tidy etc we never did much in the way of gardening. I do the usual "mummy" thing of growning some of the sunflower seeds from the poor hamsters food with the kids, cress & herbs in pots etc but my few attempts at growing anything else from seeds did not go as planned!! Last year though I did do some hanging baskets and pots with plants brought from the garden centre and loved the results (if I do say so myself ) so this year I have decided to give the garden the attention it deservs!

Hi Toni and welcome. You have come to the right place and will get plenty of help and useful advice.

You will find yourself a partner,

Sounds fab, if you like growing things in baskets you can grow lots of little tumbling toms, they are really sweet and the kids love them, my mum keeps a hanging basket on them by her back door and everytime she goes in/out she picks a few, better than sweets.
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown
