  • Greeting from Durham.

Just to say hello from the North-East. I emigrated to Durham in the 1980's from sunny Sheppey in Kent. Though sometimes I moan about the place I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the UK.
If given the chance I would jump at the chance to live in my beloved Czech Republic. Absolutely loads of Grow Your Own opportunities there. Perhaps this is a throw back to the communist years when salad etc was a luxury!

    Keep well,

    Mark.

Lol. Sheppey...I lived there for about 10 years and attended the lovely Comp during the early 80s. Horrid place.

Welcome to the Vine, glad you made it out of there alive.

Welcome to the grapevine. I love Durham. I went to the University in the late 60s (giving me age away!) and met Himself there. Our daughter also graduated from Durham so the place holds some special memories for us.

          Thank you.

Sheppey Comp' I know it well - remember Mr Binks?
I must agree that Durham, the City & County, is very nice with areas such as Weardale remaining relatively undiscovered to walkers etc.

Somewhere deep in my head; it rings a bell. I remember Mrs Pratt the art teacher mainly - and my blind English Teacher [I always thought I'd remember her name but it seems to have gone she was lovely].

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown
