  • Hi everyone!

    Hi,
Just thought I would introduce myself.

Just acquired a 20m x 5m plot in Bath, and going to put in 5 raised beds 1.2m x 2.4m, as well as a shed on hard standing, 2 palette compost bins, and 2m x 4m x 2m fruit cage, with raspberries in it.

Was wondering what else would go good in the fruit cage. I am thinking loganberries, gooseberries and maybe blueberries. I want to put between 5 and 10 raspberry canes down half the cage, and so I have a 1m x 4m space for the other soft fruit bushes.

Also what other crops have people had successes with? What is easy to grow? I fancy carrots, potatoes, parsnips, salad greens, especially oriental greens (Pak choi...) and maybe some brassicas, but not brussel sprouts.

    Cheers

How many asparagus crowns did you plant? Thinking of putting some in some time. I hear they can be planted at any time of year. Is this true?

Keep me posted with your progress.

Our plot is 2/3 cleared, probably going to go down tomorrow depending on the weather.

      Cheers

Hello and welcome, If you like to eat it then 'ave a go at growing it! (thats my motto anyway)
Not sure how big your fruit cage is but Loganberrys get quite big and take up quite a bit of room - unless you grow them up against a wall or fence.
              Happy growing
