hi there, i'm Zoe. I'm 26 and live in exmouth. I moved in to my new house 2.5yrs ago and only disappointment was minute garden at the back and steep terraces of gravel in the front. Anyway, I had my baby 10weeks early feb 08 and as she was growing to come home from hosp i started to clear out the terraces. Crisp packets, weeds. what looked like a lifetimes worth of trash hidden under spiky plants!!! at the end of it all, i found that these terraces were perfect for growing veg. filled them up with soil and compost and set to work. I achieved 10 fabulous caulis, brussels at xmas potatoes parsnips, kale and beetroot and a few other bits. all were tasty and my 3yr old loves telling her friends at school that her lnchbox is full of treats from the garden. even if sometimes it's a little exaggerated!!! I'm completely hooked now, and can't wait to see where beginners luck takes me this year. (with a little help from aunty Jackie J!!!

hi, thanks for welcome. I have lots this year and definitely focussing on what we all like to eat rather than anything extravagant. Lettuce, Spring onion, celery, carrots, parsnip, leek, broc, cauli, courgette are main things. Want to know what i can grow in between slower maturing crops. Trying to bribe my mother into caring for tomatoes, pepper and cucumber in her greenhouse though! Oh, one extravagance is atlantic giant pumpkin, for the competitive side of me!

They attract the goodies that eat the baddies that eat your food - so go on - give some a try.
