  • Hi from Wales!

    Hi everyone!

I'm Jai from South Wales. I'm a bit of a newbie, to the forum and to gardening!
I got into gardening last year when I was wandering around Homebase and randomly bought a strawberry plant, and it just escalated from there! After that I bought every plant I could fit in the garden!
I grow everything in pots as I only have a bit of concrete and a greenhouse for a garden. Last year I had great success with strawberries and raspberries (Well, I didn't know then that you had to net raspberries so I got up one morning to find the birds had eaten the lot!) I also grew some mini carrots in a bucket which came out quite well, and I managed a very small pumpkin, a few cucumbers and lots of tomatoes.
This year I'm growing... well, everything, really! It's only March and I already have far too many pots of lovely plants! I've got some very healthy looking blackcurrents and whitecurrents, a couple of dwarf cherry trees, some new raspberry canes, and I spent yesterday potting up a load of new strawberry roots. I also just bought a heated propagator and currently have some melon, pepper and alpine strawberry seeds hopefully germinating in there!

I came across this forum about a week ago and have already got some wonderful advice just from lurking, so I thought I'd pop out and introduce myself, and apologise in advance for all the daft newbie questions you will no doubt find me asking!

    Take care,
    Jai
