Hi i am new here so please be gentile.I got an allotment last october and it was very overgrown with nettles,dock and couch grass.I started off by pulling down a t-pee shaped construction which someone had erected for a hawk to land on. Then strimmed and cythed all the nettles,dock and grass and rotovated half of the plot (big mistake) grew back twice as bad so been hard digging all roots out.I have some of my seeds and potatoes in greenhouse to take to allotment when i get some spaces ready
anyway i hope i didn't bore you i am a newbie but worked on my grandfathers allotment when i was a kid so i know a little bit

On reading your post wondering how you got on with the couch grass as a garden I am working in has a lot of it.

Sorry for the late reply Scotkat the only thing i could do with the couch grass was dig 1+1/2 fork depths down and remove as much as possible sore on back though still at it 3mtrs x 4mtrs clear Two rows of early's in only 18mtrs x 33mtrs to go
