    Hi Beckie
Phew, you sure are busy - makes my efforts quite tame, but sure I'll get up to speed as the season goes on.

Its not so bright and warm here today, so think I'll just browse at Lidl or Aldi for more seeds.

It's certainly addictive, I started out with tomatoes in a pot in the backgarden a few years ago and now there's no stopping me!! You'll be just the same. We got our lottie almost exactly two years ago and I admit that the huge variety of things I grow is partly due to being a highly competitive member of my local gardeners society. The Spring Show is tomorrow and there is a lot to do!!

      Have fun seed shopping!

Is the show open to visitors? if so, do you have time and details. I have plans to go to Canterbury tomorrow, but could go via Ashford.

            Hi Sally

Thanks for the welcome. We found the weather changeable here today. In Canterbury it was lovely sunshine and we visited the farm and farmshop at Chilham. When we returned home thinking we would get cracking in the garden, it was a heavy mist here, could not see the sea and a little chilly.

Is yours an allotment in Dover or a home garden? This is our first proper year of gardening by the sea (previously north kent/london area) so we are yet to discover how the weather/sea air here affects gardening.

I am looking forward to harvest time :-)

Sorry I missed this one BumbleB. The shows are open to the public from 2pm once the judging is finished.

I got one 1st for a Pizzaladiere (sp?)
Four 2nds - leeks, decorated fairy cakes, vase of mixed spring flowers and a fruit smoothie (which my OH whipped up 3 minutes before judging started!!)
One Highly Commended - Vase of 3 Narcissi of same variety.

The Spring Show is more biased towards flowers and homecrafts with only three veg classes, but it hots up later in the year.

Hi Donna, where are you in Kent? great few days sunshine here, getting lots of jobs done but trying to hold out with planting on my plot yet as not sure if we are past the last frosts.

Really you want to hang on til mid May for Kent, though as you are on the coast, you might get away with the beginning of May, but have some fleece or cloches (cut off lemonade bottles will do) at the ready, just in case.

Bumblebee, am in Gravesend... Most of the weekend for us were horrible and over cast but the sun did pop out yesterday afternoon which was nice. Got out in the garden and had a tidy up. The robin was my constant companion lol...

Hi Donna, we pass your way quite a bit as family are that way. We have robins here too and we are getting them to hand feed. We have some video clips of them, will look at how we post pictures here.
