  • Hello from the North East

    Hello everyone,

My name is Annie and I live in a village near Hexham, I am new to gardening.

I am trying to grow some vegetables and flowers from seed this year. Have made a raised bed 13' x 5' from some old wood for the vegatables and will be using ther square foot gardening system as I only have this small area to grow them. Have put potatoes in plastic tubs, strawberries in pots, I have a border for the flowers.

I need all the help and advice I can get! I killed the first lot of seeds I tried as they were started outside in the shed, and it was too cold in there for them, and I probably overwatered them But I have had more success now with seeds in trays/pots on the dining room table wrapped in clingfilm till they germinate, then unwrap them and keeping the soil just moist

Well I am off to plant some lettuce seeds before it rains.
