Hello just having a look around this great site I am hoping to grow some veg in pots and containers this year and will need all the advise I can get. I have been having radiotherapy for a few weeks so thought taking my mind off stuff and hope for a bumper crop. Any advice about container growing would be great does this site have a special section for container grown stuff ?. I have had a quick spy but not found it yet.

But unfortunately at this present time I cannot offer any advice on gardening of any sort as I'm a complete newbie

Hi there abby and welcome! Gardening is a great stress buster and for taking your mind off stuff. I grow quite a bit in containers. Depends what type of veg you want to grow. There are quite a few threads on container growing if you go through the search button. Otherwise just ask

I have got some tumbling tom toms on the window sill at the moment and some carrots called Parmex small and fat thought they would be good in pots , and some mangetout peas I got from garden centre but don't know how or when to put them out?..

Hi Abby, from just over the border
Your mangetout can be planted out from any time now, but they'll probably do better if you put them out during the day, and bring them back in at night for about a week (this is just to get them used to the outside and is known as 'hardening off').
