Always a good idea to have a plan. My plan was to bung loads of random seeds in random places and then have a pleasant game of guess the seedling as they all come up - pretty much identified everything now but its taken a few weeks.... perhaps next year i`ll keep a plan myself :P

Managed to get some seeds in yesterday - carrots, salad, beetroot and something else (I've forgotten, although I have made a paper plan, so that should be OK). We have got a free supply of organic(?) horse manure, which our lottie neigh(get-it?)bours are rather jealous of, so off to a good start.

Thanks for such a great welcome!
      Lol! Mad, us?????? Definitely!

Why be normal and boring when you can be twisted and interesting! lol!

Sounds like you're off to a good start with the plan and seedlings, but dont get too hung up on the plans, the first year we grew on the plot I did a planting plan that went to the detail of how many of each veg we could fit into the beds, was interesting, but although we stuck to the plan we didnt plant exactly what we'd worked out for each bed, so be prepared to be flexible, especially if you find you've suddenly got more seedlings than the bed that they are going in!

Hope you enjoy the vine btw!
      Blessings

This is good advice - but sadly I only have a poly greenhouse to grow my seedlings and 'cos we had such horrid weather last week, even though I had weighted the blooming thing down, the wind managed to tip it (and my carefully tended seedlings) upside down... so I don't actually have many seedlings left now, although I do have a tray of "mixed herbs" - could be anything now as I had to pile the compost back in and hope for the best!

Lots of recipes use 'mixed herbs' so you'll be ok there. Hi and welcome :-)

That's a shame but don't be put off, we all have our little disasters. As the weather is getting warmer (allegedly) though you wouldn't know it 9° here today, you will be able to sow a lot of stuff straight into the soil, might take a little longer but you'll get there in the end. Wish you were nearer could send you some of excesses caused by my enthusiasm!

Thank you for the encouragement - I have been offered some Cauliflower and courgette plants, so I'm hoping my plot won't be too bare this year!

                    You've made my brain hurt

Welcome Juniper and Thyme (but what happened to Rosemary...? Have you solved any murders on the allotment yet, during your tea break?)
