I realised I kind of jumped in without introducing myself. Sorry, very rude
I live in a small village in North Oxfordshire with my DH, 3 children (10, 8 and 5), 2 dogs (retired greyhound and lurcher), 3 cats and 13 chickens. We don't have enough room for a vegetable patch with that lot, so we have a half plot at the allotments about 5 minutes walk away.
We took over a 'small-half' plot last year that was like a field and did a lot of clearing and a bit of growing. We stayed at the top of the list to swap to a bigger plot and took that over this year. Consequently, we're doing more growing, so I feel as though I'm getting somewhere now!
Growing seeds is my sticking point- I've done the usual tomatoes/courgettes/herbs for years, but always got plants from sales and shops. I'm pleased with my beetroot though
