  • Hello Everybody

Hello!! Just stumbled acroos this site and it looks fab!

My name's Becky, I live in a victorian end terrace on the edge of the South Downs. I have a lovely big garden but its steep and very windy too. I've been here nearly 3 years and the garden's a work in progress! It started as a mass of brambles but I now have 3 veg plots, a couple of fruit trees, a makeshift greenhouse and 3 lovely chickens that do me proud! I'm a big fan of growing my own, and have just had a lovely lunch of rocket, radish and egg salad!! Really looking forward to getting to know you all.

      Welcome Becky,

Sounds like your enjoying yourself- even if it has taken time to get your garden sorted.

            Hi Becky
My garden is very steep too. We have been building flatter terraced areas so that it is more manageable and easier to get to the top.
Good luck with your growing - you'll enjoy it here on the vine.

Hello Becky. Have the bramble problem myself but by the looks of things it'll a good ten years before its clear! Good luck with your plot, and welcome to the vine.
A good beginning is half the work.
Praise the young and they will make progress.

Hi Becky, I'm just up the road in Shoreham we're probably on the same chalky soil!
Good luck with the veg and welcome. I'm a bit of a newbie myself.
