addicted to growing stuff.
i started at the end of March 2009, i had recently moved into a new house after spending 8 years in a flat with no opportunity to grow.
i suppose my interest was sparked by my father when i was but a nipper, and it has taken until now to get going, so i'm making up for lost time.
the house we moved into had been empty for around 15 years and therefore the garden had 15 years worth of weeds, mostly brambles, bindweed and ivy.
there are also a couple of over grown trees, especially a fig tree which has turned into some sort of prehistoric multi limbed monster, with its talons reaching over the roof of the extension and down to the garden floor.
it took me 3 months of evenings and weekends to just to be able to see the ground, when spring arrived so did 10's if not over a hundred bluebells and snowdrops which was nice, but also came the brambles and ivy again, so i need to dig them all up and burn them.
Another issue was that because i had to basically renovate the house top to bottom i then had a huge pile of rubbish building up in the garden, plaster board, rubble and all kinds of stuff ripped from the house, so because of the garden and the rubbish i decided to grow in pots and containers in my conservatory. below is a list of what i've grown from seed so far.
as i'm new to this and given my track record of killing most things i've tried to grow in the past, cacti, bonsai and other general house plants i overcompensated when sowing seed, which has resulted in about 90% germination success and therefore plants coming out of my ...... although i do have a few friends and family that will get gifts soon.
Anyway, thankyou to everyone who posts on here as when trying to find advice google kept sending me here so i thought i'd sign up, i made my first posts today and will continue to search for answers and ask questions from and to you helpful bunch.
