  • New to Forum - My Kitchen Garden

    Hello to everyone

My name is Tracey, I am new to this forum and hope that I will be able to pick up lots of hints and tips for my newly created kitchen garden.

I love gardening but I wanted to be able to designate a small part of my garden to growing a few vegetables for a change.
It has taken me two years to create this garden but now I have the finished kicthen garden which I am hoping I can look an intergral part of my garden and very pretty.

I decided to dig up a central part of my lawn but wanted to be able to look up and down my long garden without the view being obstructed so I came up with the idea of raised beds and arches to grow beans and sweet peas over. I hope you will take a look at my before and after pictures, please leave me comments as its nice to be able to share my ideas with others.

I hope that I will get to know some people on here and loo forward to chatting. But for now I will close as I have to pop into my greenouse and do my daily jobs!!!

Hi Tracey - I know I'm getting old and daft but I can't see any before and after pics! It sounds lovely though. I dug up practically all the grass in our 100ft long garden - took me 3 years!

Nope. I see mini stats, friends and recent visitors. No photo folders.

Sure you can't see it 'cos you're a mod?

Just checked - Tracey has made it private so yes, it''s because I'm a mod.

                  Sorry!

It's looking good though, if that helps.

                      Grass, and a pot
                      Then it was not

                      A raised bed or two
                      [Hope they didn't use glue]

                      A frame

I have posted them in my folder linked to my tracey14 name, I did make them private as I thought all members on the forum would be able to see them if they went there, I hope you can see them all, let me know if I have done something wrong!

I can see them now - thought I was going potty!
They look great :-) You just need to get them planted up and watch it all grow.

We have done something similar but our garden is a steep hill. We have a arbour type pergola thing over a set of steps and raised beds at different levels to one side of the steps. We have runner beans growing up one side of the pergola and a grape vine the other side. The raised beds have french beans, lettuce and radish, beetroot and broccoli. We also have a high raised bed with squash in that I hope might also grow over the pergola. Still to go in is sweetcorn and we have a patio area with various toms and some celery. I must get around to taking some pics!
