  • Hello

    Hi all,

New to this forum. I have been a keen gardner for the past few years but never did veg. Last spring I purchased a polytunnel and I am now harvesting rocket, radish, and salad potatoes. I have tomatoes chillie cucumber melon all growing well. I also made two raised beds outside the tunnel and have french beans, white turnip, white radish and potatoes growing.
I must say that I am totally bitten by the veg bug and get so much enjoyment evey day from my veg garden.

I also have two large lawns that need quite a lot of time as I have not purchased a ride on as I feel the exercise with my ordinary petrol mower is good for me. I four large beds with shrubs and perrinials and summer bedding so I am kept busy in the garden.

I am also a keen golfer but have only played once this year as I do not have time with all I have to do at home.

Finally I find this forum very helpfull and and visit it every day to see what people are doing today.

    Regards Joe

Hello Joe, and a very warm welcome! Sounds like the growing bug has well and truely bitten you! I may be looking for advice on melons as this is my first year growing them, so here's hoping you've lots of tips to share.
A good beginning is half the work.
Praise the young and they will make progress.

Welcome to the vine, Joe. I started offf with flower gardening and initially thought there wasn't enough variety in veg to keep me interested.
Because of the credit crunch I'm glad I swapped to veggies (although I still grow flowers) and only realise now how many varieties of each veg there are and delight in looking for them and trying them out.
